This journey began for me in 2009. I weighed 190 pounds and was very unhappy. I was very uncomfortable in my own skin and needed help. In November of 2009, I decided it was time to take control. A week before Thanksgiving, I joined Weight Watchers. Weight Watchers proved to be the best plan for me. In addition to following WW, I also joined a gym and began working out. Working out became an outlet for me - stress relief and confidence booster. In 2011, I told my husband Kevin that I wanted to become a runner. I first tried to complete the Coach to 5K program on my own, but quickly gave up. It was then that a friend introduced me to First Flight (www.yourfirstflight.org). With First Flight's support, I completed first 5K and became addicted to running. In the last year, I have taken my running to a new level. I have completed a 5K, 10K, and recently a half marathon. Now that I am closer to my goal weight, my goals have changed.
I am working to build more muscle and improving my overall physical fitness. Through this blog I hope to build a network of people who are working towards similar goals. Let this be an accountability group.
